The Georgetown Fire Department is a call/volunteer fire department. Because of this fact, the Fire Prevention Division is available for home smoke detector inspections on a limited basis. Anyone selling their home should contact the Fire Prevention office at least two weeks in advance to arrange for an inspection. Currently the Fire Dept. schedules inspections on Wednesday. Although this is our scheduled inspection day, we will make every effort to be accommodating to all of our residents. Our inspectors will work with the homeowner to ensure compliance and answer any pertinent questions.
